There’s a raindrop on the upper right corner of this photo.

Here’s how it got there.

Like most people, I have a love-hate relationship with my job.

The routines can somehow get boring and the long hours can get stressful. What trumps all that is the freedom it gives me to do what I want if I can manage my time wisely.

I’ve developed a system when I was in Hong Kong: go find a coffee shop every time it starts to rain to finish work then go out and walk around the city once it stops.

On this particular day, I woke up early and decided to visit Quarry Bay and North Point. As soon as I got off the train at Tai Koo station, heavy rain started to pour. I checked Google maps to search for the nearest coffee shop, stayed there, ordered a cappucino and a croissant for breakfast, and worked for two hours. I was happy because it was a very productive morning despite the crazy weather.

The rain stopped ten minutes past eleven in the morning. I walked around King’s Road to look for Yick Cheong building and took some pictures. I tilted my camera, trying to get a good view of the building and the sky, and the rain started to pour once more.
